Description
Scented candles are all the rage, and fragrance enthusiasts know that diptyque has a limited-edition "City Candles" series. These are exclusive scented candles created for a specific city and can only be purchased there. For nearly 60 years, diptyque has used fragrance to record memories of life and travel. These simple yet elegant scents are all creations of the three founders' unique taste in beautiful things, travel memories, and real-life experiences. The "City Limited Scented Candle Series" was initially created as a tribute to the city where the store is located. These scents are usually only available in their respective cities and cannot be found elsewhere. Each candle's fragrance is not only inspired by the city, creating an olfactory landscape, but its design also features striking decorative architectural elements. Through scent and architectural elements, it evokes memories of the city.


This particular city-themed scented candle was released to commemorate the opening of the Diptyque Ginza store in Tokyo. The outer box design is inspired by the traditional Japanese Aoyama wave, while the candle holder is surrounded by lush foliage, echoing the candle's fragrance reminiscent of a Japanese pine forest.


Diptyque's candle designs and fragrances perfectly echo the unique charm of the city, creating a dual atmosphere for the eyes and nose. Diptyque cleverly blends urban architecture with the natural environment, making skyscrapers, temples, palaces, and garden landscapes seem to be guided by the incense of a temple, peacefully strolling into a pine forest, where a gentle warmth washes over you, bringing a sense of tranquility and peace to both body and mind. The exquisite packaging is inspired by the traditional Japanese Seihai wave pattern, with the bottle itself inspired by Japanese pine forests, evoking the experience of strolling through Yoyogi Park and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, experiencing the sacred cypress forests of Japan.
